About

Hello, and welcome! I’m Harsh Mohan, but let’s be honest - with a name like “Harsh”, there’s bound to be some fun in it, right? Hence, I named this space “HARSH FR” (For Real). Dive in, and get to know a bit more about my world.

Journey Across Continents: Born and raised in India, my passion for technology whisked me away to the UK, where I pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the renowned University of York. Alongside academics, my internships varied from being a full-stack developer to dabbling in the wonders of computer vision and machine learning. My most significant stint was with Dojo (Paymentsense) during an integrated placement year, where I honed my skills as a GoLang Software Engineer.

Interests & Hobbies: Much like a samurai who delves into various art forms beyond his combat skills, I, too, explore beyond coding. My fascination lies in productivity hacks for coders. From building my custom split orthogonal keyboard to keeping a keen eye on the community for inspiration, I’ve done it all. I take pride in my custom keyboard layout mixed with colemak-dh, ensuring I’m always on top of my typing game. And oh, if you’re a Vim enthusiast, let’s bond over the eternal quest for the ‘perfect config‘ - a treasure I believe exists in another dimension!

The Blogging Adventure: The perfectionist in me often hampered my aspirations to chronicle my experiences as an engineer. Several attempts at blogging were thwarted by my penchant for getting everything ‘just right’. However, this time around, I embraced the philosophy of ‘it is what it is‘ and began sharing my insights. The focus? Mainly programming, sprinkled with tutorials, unexpected challenges, personal experiences, and a whole lot of knowledge sharing. As I gear up for the next chapter after my final year at Uni, expect even more from this space.

Unique Qualities? Well, I believe in the beauty of evolving and growing. And I’m on this journey with all of you. Together, we’ll discover what makes me, well, me!

Life Motto: Memento Mori. A gentle reminder of the impermanence of life, urging us to make the most of now.

In Closing: Your feedback is the gold mine I thrive on. Constructive criticism, suggestions, or just a word of appreciation - it all drives me. Think of it as our very own agile development process. Let’s iterate and refine, one blog post at a time!
